Weather, an in-depth online course updated for 2021, offered by the United States Power Squadrons®, America’s Boating Club®, introduces students to the science of meteorology and focuses on the causes, analysis, and forecasting of weather events. This self-paced course includes ten fully narrated online modules that give the student total control of the sequence and timing of their learning, and a comprehensive PDF student manual. This course is best viewed on a nine-inch or larger screen. The aim of the course is to make you weather-wise.
You will learn about
This course meets the practical needs of today’s boaters by covering weather maps, upper-air charts, local and zone text forecasts, wind/wave and other graphic forecasts, radar images, and watches, warnings and advisories. This course also highlights use of internet resources, weather apps, and Wi-Fi, cell phone, radio, and satellite weather communications for marine use.
Weather also includes an online exam that if taken and passed will give America's Boating Club members the same course credit as the Weather classroom course.
